While not a replace complete fledged anti-virus software, Stinger is modified many times a week to include recognition for more recent Bogus Aware versions and frequent viruses. Stinger is a separate application used to identify and eliminate specific viruses. It is not a alternative for complete
antivirus protection, but rather a tool to assist directors and users when working with an attacked system. Stinger uses next-generation check out engine technology, such as process checking, electronically finalized .DAT information, and check out performance optimizations. It finds and eliminates risks determined under the “List Viruses” symbol in the Stinger program.
